Over the summer of 2024, members completed motor vehicle extrication refresher training. Members received a 10 hour refresher training program consisting of classroom and practical evolutions. Practical evolutions included scenarios of a person under a vehicle utilizing airbags for removal, persons trapped in a vehicle using both our battery operated and hydraulic rescue tools, persons suffering from an impalement injury utilizing hands tools such as a band saw. Members were presented with different types of stabilization scenarios, stabilization is a crucial step taken for both occupant and responder safety prior to removal of a victim.
